Study On EPC Mode In Chinese Urban Sewage Treatment Engineering

EPC mode as one of the turnkey project contracts has been widely used in the world. Recently, this mode has drawn more and more attention and has been employed in projects based on key-turning in China. With the rapid development of the market of wastewater treatment, a number of sewage treatment plants have been constructed based on EPC mode. Therefore, it is necessary to systematically analyze the advantages and disadvantages of EPC mode used in the market of wastewater treatment from the present national situation in China.Based on the theory of the management and application of EPC, this paper summarized and analyzed the characteristics and applicability of EPC mode in the construction of sewage treatment facilities, focusing on the application, market, policy and contract of EPC mode in wastewater treatment. The results indicated that EPC mode was suitable for the development of wastewater treatment and could meet the requirements of wastewater treatment industry.In addition, this paper solved some problems resulting from the application of EPC mode in sewage treatment engineering, such as the management of design procedures, contracts, policies and regulations. The obstacles and maladjustments were also involved in this paper. The modification referring to the management procedures, terms of contract, policies and regulations was proposed, and the disadvantages and risks of EPC mode were analyzed additionally.
