| As tourism is flourishing today, ethnic tourism has been the favor of tourists at home and abroad, it also has become a wonderful work in tourism. Authenticity of ethnic tourism is one of essential issue in the study on ethnic tourism. The tourists in ethnic tourism pursue the happy feeling based on authenticity, hope that they can feel, touch and imagine the real culture. However, there is always commercial phenomenon in the actual development of ethnic tourism, and the excessive commercialization can affect the authenticity of tourism. Therefore, the hardest problem in the development of ethnic tourism is how to grasp the extent of cultural authenticity for the balance between authenticity and commercialization.Taking Dong Village of Huangdu as a case, the paper discusses the protection of ethnic culture and tourism development based on the authenticity. This paper first summarizes the status of research on the authenticity of ethnic tourism, explains the related concepts and theories that support this paper, and then do a study with relevant theory of statistics, anthropology, ethnology, management and psychology. Based on the review and relevant theory, the paper takes Dong Village of Huangdu as a case, analyses and probes into the problem from the authenticity of ethnic culture and tourist experience. In the study on the object of ethnic culture, the paper constructs the tourism symbol system of ethnic culture, analyses the ethnic cultural symbols and contemporary development from two aspects including the superficial and deep symbols of ethnic culture, and unscrambles the cultural symbols of Dong village from the authentic view. In the study on the subject of tourist experience, the paper analyses the tourist motivation, the authenticity evaluation that tourists make to the tourism symbols of Dong village, the differences between the authenticity of tourist experience and the actual situation, and the correlation of authenticity and satisfaction, based on the survey and statistical analysis using qualitative and quantitative method. And then the paper explores the influence of the authentic reading for the tourism symbols to the tourism experience, confirms the important significance that authenticity acts on the protection of ethnic culture and tourism development. Finally, some proposals on culture protection and tourism development have been put forward according to the view of authenticity, from three aspects such as the development mode of ethnic culture separation, the system of government management and the mechanism of community participation. |
