Civil aviation industry is an important part of the national economy, the development of civil aviation industry has played a huge role in promoting the national economy. An important criterion of the development of civil aviation industry is the industrial competitiveness. China Yangtze River Delta region is one of the fastest growing regions in China, this provides a huge space for the development of civil aviation industry on Yangtze River Delta. Promulgation of "Yangtze River Delta Regional Planning (2010-2015)" and other documents put a long-term planning on the development of regional civil aviation industry on the Yangtze River Delta. The development of airport economic and related industries provided a strong guarantee for the development of civil aviation industry on Yangtze River Delta. Wither All above combined with the ability and the resources required can be the driving forces of the Civil Aviation industry competitiveness has important practical significance. To address this issue, this paper studied on civil aviation industry competitiveness on the Yangtze River Delta. First, based on existing theoretical literature and status of the Yangtze River Delta, the competitiveness of aviation industry Model in the Yangtze River Delta was established. Secondly, through factor analysis of a small sample, indicators was tested and screened, key factors were identified and assumptions were made. Then assumption-based structural equation model of the Yangtze River Delta aviation industry competitiveness was constructed, and the model passed the testing and was corrected. It was found that the Yangtze River Delta air resources, civil aviation product or service, demand conditions, civil aviation capacity and related and supporting industries (factors) has a significant positive impact on the competitiveness of civil aviation industry on the Yangtze River Delta. Among these factors, Demand conditions which impact on competitiveness relatively high. Finally, four figure method was used for analyzing each factor and providing strategies to improve civil aviation industry competitiveness of the Yangtze River Delta. In addition, the competitiveness of aviation industry Model in the Yangtze River Delta was used to evaluate Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang performance.It turned out that Shanghai is the most competitive city, and Zhejiang ranked second, the last one was Jiangsu.
