The Difference Of Service Industry Development And Regional Coordination In Western China

Since the reform and opening up, our national economy has rapid development, the economic structure has underegone great changes, and the status of the service industry is growing more and more important. The development of service industry plays a key role in enlarging employment, optimizing industrial structure, improving quality of residents'life, keeping society steady, promoting coordinated regional development etc.It has great significance to recognize the actuality, characteristics and causes for accelerate the western service industry development and achieve the coordinated and sustainable development of the western under the background of well-off society and fully open of service industry.Due to the theories at home and abroad of tertiary industry and regional coordination, this paper analysis the actuality of the development of the service industry and regional coordination base on the eastern, central and western economic zones and the western 12 provinces, finding that the service development level is low, service development gap is large and regional imbalances.Through the analysis of the actuality, this paper establishes the index evaluation system of the development of service industry and regional coordination in west of China, analysises the characteristics of service industry and regional coordination, the impact of service industry on the regional coordination using econometric methods such as cluster analysis, principal component analysis,and cointegration analysis. In the cluster analysis, this paper obtained the clustering of the development of service industry and regional coordination, that reflects the similar to the region for the western region service industry development and regional coordination in the index system and provided the basis for guidance, also reveals the the development of service industry in different impact on regional coordination. This paper analysises the main factors and compares the differences between regions on services industry and regional coordination in west of China by principal component analysis. Finally, based on the theories of service industry development and regional coordination, this paper makes cointegration analysis between service industry development and regional coordination by using the time-serial data from 1992 to 2008. The empirical results show that western services industry development has a due role in promoting the regional coordination. Service employment ratio and service density play an active role in promoting the regional coordination, and regional coordination is the granger reason of service density and service product per capita, but the main impact on the performance of the system is long term.At last, this paper gives some advice on how to speed up service industry development: Firstly, understand the importance of the service industry, continuing to consolidate and improve. Secondly, try the best to create the superior macroeconomic surroundings. Thirdly, create multi-channels and multi-arrangement input mechanism. Fourthly, try the best to paly the local resources and accelerate the development of service industries. Finally, create the western regional economic circle to develop service industry.
