With the tendency of urbanization in the world, China has stepped into this rapid development period. Meanwhile, the urbanization has witnessed an enormous impact on economy, society, ecology, etc. Urbanization in China faces a great deal of unprecedented new problems, especially the extensive exploitation of the land, which mainly shows in two aspects-sprawl of cities and irrational construction and design of land. In addition, as the expanded economic zone, the intensification of land still remains to be improved. Based on the real situation that China owns dense population but limited land as well as on the principle of intensification, government in China should take a series of measures to change the extensive use of land, together with the promotion of its intensified utilization, which include distinguishing land property right, reforming and improving the land tax system, strengthening design of cities, increasing the investment to science and technology, adjusting lands used in industry and improving reserve system of urban land. Urumqi is taken as an example in this essay; the regression model has been set up by means of tendency analysis and quantitative analysis in economic development, growth of population and dynamic change of arable land so as to strengthen the urgency of implementing the intensification of land in Urumqi. Moreover, six advices on how to achieve the intensification have been put forward according to the economic integration of Wuchang (Urumqi and Changji).
