Empirical Study On The Correlation Between The Development Of China's Intra-industry And Evolution Of Industrial Structure

International trade has always been considered as the engine of economic development, and plays an important role in national economy. The speed of the development of China International trade is faster than that of national economy, so China International trade has made great contribution to economic development. Nowadays, Intra-industry Trade has taken the leading position of International trade, the total volume of Intra-industry accounts for 60% of the gross amount. With the development of China economy, Intra-industry Trade is becoming the orientation of the development of foreign trade; it will also be a hotspot of International trade research. The problems appearing in current economic operation are the reflections of improper economic structure, the essence of the structural impropriety is the industries which take the lead in development are disabled in driving the rapid and steady economic growth. Recognizing Intra-industry Trade shaping mechanism and the relation between industrial structure, optimizing and upgrading industrial structure through improving Intra-industry Trade are the purposes of writing this thesis.The main body of this thesis consists of five parts. The first part is introduction. After analyzing the situation of current International trade and our commercial and economic structures, the theme of this thesis is proposed. Besides, introducing research process and methods, putting forward theoretical and practical signification of researching this issue and difficulties, emphases and creative points of this thesis.The content of the second part is the introduction and evaluation of related Intra-industry Trade and industrial structure theories. Firstly, demonstrating the leading position of Intra-industry Trade in new times by describing formation and development process of the theories. Secondly, defining the evaluation index (G-L) and analyzing three decisive factors of Intra-industry Trade (Scale economies,imperfect competition,product differentiation) and the correlations among them. Thirdly, defining relevant concepts about industrial structure and confirming the evaluation index.The third part studies current situations of our Intra-industry Trade and industrial structure through qualitative and quantitative analysis. Firstly, using Index G-L to illuminate the current situation of our Intra-industry objectively and to compare with developed, newly industrial and other developing countries and concluding the traits and existing problems of our Intra-industry Trade on the basis of the results.
