Empirical Research On Intra-industry Trade Between China And The United States Under The Background Of Industrial Upgrading

After the third scientific and technological revolution in the middle of the twentieth Century,the phenomenon of intra-industry trade has become more and more prominent,and economists have paid more and more attention on this.So far,intra-industry trade has become the main form of international trade and played an important role in China's foreign trade.On the other hand,China's economy is facing a critical moment of transformation and upgrading,to build high-end equipment manufacturing industry has become an important national strategy.Based on this,this paper starts to study the intra-industry trade between China and the US,analyzes the current situation and the influencing factors,and proposes some advice on relevant policies.This paper makes a comparative analysis of the import and export trade scale,the growth rate and the proportion of the metal processing machinery industry and sub sectors.The Sino-US metal processing machinery industry sorts in aspects of the G-L index,MIIT index,UV analysis,intermediate goods and capital goods.From the industry level,the paper selects seven indicators in five aspects includes scale economy,green development,product differentiation,factor endowment and foreign investment.Through empirical research to build the analysis model,and through the comprehensive FGLS long panel measurement method for empirical analysis,and at the same time with appropriate test methods to prove the reliability of the measurement method.In addition,the influence of each factor sorts according to the analysis of gray correlation degree.In this paper,the gray system theory and panel model is more reasonable combined of empirical analysis,and there is a certain degree of innovation.The main conclusions are as follows.First,the intra-industry trade level between China and the US is on the rise,however the current level is still low,and belongs to the low-end vertical intra-industry trade.Second,the development of sub sector of metal processing machinery industry is serious,and the level of intra-industry trade is different;Third,economies of scale,green development,product differentiation and capital-intensive factor endowments have played a catalytic role in the intra-industry trade of the metal processing machinery industry between China and the US.In the meantime,the role of foreign investment is negative;Fourthly,factor endowment has the greatest influence on intra-industry trade,and the rest are product differentiation,green development,economies of scale and foreign investment;Finally,based on the analysis,this paper puts forward some suggestions from several aspects.
