Study In Environmental Sustainable Development Of Small Town Of Chongqing

The urbanization level is a important index for weighing the developmet degree of economics and society for a corcntry or region. Scince Chongqing was directly under the jurisdiction of, the municipal Party country and government has paid high attention to urbanization and small town's construction, invested a large number of wealth and material strength, has obtained a great achievement, the main economic indicator of small town increased rapidly, the rate of urbanization raised from 17.05% in 1990 to 41.90% in 2003, exceeeded the average level of all country. From the analyzation find that the urbanization's difference is very prominent in Chongqing. From the rate of urbanization we can see that urbanization's rate in the developed economic cycle in the city riched up to 84.72% in 2003, however, at the same time, the urbanization rates of the economic corridor of the west of Chongqing and ecological ecomomic zone of reservior area of Three Gorges were 36.08% and 25.72%; From the position of the small twon, in 2003, there were 648 organic twons in whole of Chongqing, the average density was 0.78/100km~2, and in developed economic cycle there were 97 organic towns, the density of the urban was 1.77/100km~2, and the economic corridor of the west of Chongqing and ecological econmic zone of reservior area of Three Gorges were only 1.22/100km~2 and 0.55/100km~2.Although the construction of small twon in Chongqing obtained a high speed progress, there also have many problems, for example, scale of the small twon is not large enough, plan is laged, ability of gathering and radiation is not enough strong, fund's invetion for urbanization is seriously insufficient, environmental problem is very serious.There are five kinds of environmental problems on the construction of small twon in Chongqing: First, citizen's consciousness of sustainale development is weak; Secondly, environmental quality become seriously, it is shown as environmental quality of air is poor, pollution in river is seriously, risk of domestic rubbish increase day by day, for citizens the noise disturbance is portruding day by day , distuption in ecological environment is seriously, public green land is decreased and so on.
