Job Analysis is the essential part of human resource management, as well as the basis for human resource development and human resource management. It has been widely applied to human resource planning, personnel selection, salary management, performance management, training and exploiting by both public institutions and business enterprises. Given its significance and important functions, job analysis has been given greater emphasis.The S Research Institute, a research-oriented public institution, was perplexed with many problems in its human resource management system as a result of the inefficient old-fashioned system and concepts. The administration of the institute carried on the reform and adjustment to the human resource management system, and the author has been engaged in the whole process of job analysis project in the Department of Finance, and involved in the designing and application of the project, job analysis questionnaire, daily record of work, interview, outline, position directions, and the result application management.The significance of the thesis lies in the following points.The author designs job analysis project for the Department of Finance in S Research Institute in the light of the theories, techniques and methodology of job analysis.The paper also offers constructive reference to public institutions that is undergoing the transformation into business enterprises.The thesis is organized into four sections, with the related theories first and then their applications.
