Rural energy, especially rural domestic energy shortage has been one of the contributing factors for slowed rural development in China. Negative impacts of rural energy supply on environment has been publicly known but practical options to solve energy problems are still not easily available. The present paper reports a case study of Ningnan County of Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province.Based on the investigation of household energy of this county and combined experiment of calorific value of main fuel wood tree species, it analyzed the rural domestic energy structure and influencing factors in Dry River Valley Area, and analyzed environment and social-economic benefits of integrated energy development mode based on the achievement of this county's integrated energy construction.Through investigation, it is shown that the rural domestic energy structure in Ningnan County differs obviously with the elevation. According to elevation, it can be divided into three energy district, namely valley district, semi-mountain district and high mountain district. In valley district, because of less resource and more concentrated population, it is the most serious area of the energy problem. So actualizing integrated energy development mode to meet the rural domestic energy demand is an effective instrument. In energy demonstration villages of river valley district which were investigated, domestic energy consumption still takes biomass...
