The rapid development of national economy and the prosperous demand of domestic markets of China pulls and stimulates the rapid development of Chinese iron and steel industry. However, influenced by the excessively quick development of productivity of domestic inferior iron and steel products and large quantities of import of external iron and steel products, the conflict of periodically and structurally relative surplus appears in internal markets of iron and steel products. Therefore, in order to adapt to the rapid changes in iron and steel markets and get a firm foothold in future market competition, every iron and steel producing enterprise must find accurately its target products'market based on abundant investigation and research to the markets according to its own practical situation and adjust its products'structure in terms of the demand of target market so that the enterprise can take an active part in the internal and external competition of market and keep a favorable developmental trend.Through a discussion about the theories of subcategorized products'market, the orientation of target markets, products'combinations and dynamic adjustment and relevant theories, and a study on the present conditions of international iron and steel markets and their influence on the domestic iron and steel markets, the current situations of products'supply and developmental trend of internal iron and steel market and the current situations of demand for iron and steel products of Chongqing's primary industry and its developmental tendency, the paper believes that the reason for the low ability to gain profits and the lack of market competitiveness for CG company is that its market orientation is not accurate and its products'combination is not very reasonal with reference to the human power capital theory, the and the product marketing theory. Moreover, the paper chooses new target markets for different products of CG company through the settlement of subcategorized market and also make proposals about the adjustment of products'combination for the new target market.I hope that this paper can provides some helpful enlightenment for iron and steel industry in the decision of target market and the choice of products'combinations so as to facilitate the rapid increase of the products'competitiveness and the ability to gain profits of enterprises.
