With the development of economic globalization, China is furthering reform its foreign trade system, widen the market openness, and some industries will suffer great impact that come from abroad after the open of our market. In this case, we should know that trade liberation doesn't means complete free trade, it's impossible for the existence of absolute free trade in real world. So, every country, which wants to protect its economic benefits and promote industry development, must protect domestic industry in some degree. As a developing country, China still has a considerable gap with those developed countries in terms of the efficiency in market based resource allocation, government behavior and executive efficiency. Hence we have to give a proper protection to trade so as to maintain our economic interests and to foster the industrial development. This thesis puts forward some points of view. This thesis analyzes the strategic trade policy from the angles of the dynamic comparative advantage theory and of the trade protection. Then draw the conclusion that the developing country, including China, can and should implement the strategic trade policy. From the strategic trade policy, the developing country can get the dynamic comparative advantage, avoid the "the comparative advantage trap", and improve the international competitiveness of industry. Therefore, the thesis analyzes the adaptability of such theory in China and puts forward suggestions. Finally, in order to go further to prove this policy, this thesis use a model to show our car industry can get great benefits and improve the international competitiveness under the condition of implementing the strategic trade policy. According the main clue, the thesis can be divided into seven parts except the introduction and the summary. Part one discusses the main idea of the strategic trade policy and sums up the comments on the strategic trade theory. Part two analyzes the relationship between the strategic trade policy and the Infant-industry, super-protection trade, the dynamic comparative advantage.
