Empirical Research On Coordinated Development Of "Transportation-Regional Economy" Composite System In Jiangxi Province

Transportation is one of the most important infrastructures to regional economy and regional economy is the impulse and support to transportation. It will promote the development of region if the two develop coordinately. As an underdeveloped region, Jiangxi has to attach much importance to the coordinated development of transportation and regional economy to promote the social progress.Based on the analysis of the relationship between transportation and regional economy, "Transportation-Regional Economy" composite system is constructed and its structure and function are analyzed. With the definition of coordinated development, the thesis proposes three manifestations of coordinated development: (1) statically, the development level of transportation is compatible with the regional economy stage and development objectives; (2) dynamically, there exists the mutual promotion between transportation and regional economy; (3) the composite system runs effectively.Based on the first manifestation and the transportation status, the thesis analyzes the industrialization stage in Jiangxi and draws a conclusion that the development of transportation lags behind the economy. From the second manifestation, utilizing cointegration method, this thesis analyzes if there exists the mutual promotion between transportation and regional economy in Jiangxi. Thereafter, the efficiency of composite system is evaluated and it is concluded that "Transportation-Regional Economy" composite system in Jiangxi is inefficient. In a word, the composite system of Jiangxi is not developed coordinately.In the end, the corresponding suggestions on the coordinate development of "Transportation-Regional Economy" composite system in Jiangxi, which are about transportation networks, investment, modern logistics and economy, are put forward.
