Research On Coordinated Development Of Transportation And Regional Economy In Liaoning Province

With the development of social economy and transportation, transportation has developed into a modern integrated transportation system composed of five kinds of transportation modes such as highway, railway, waterway, aviation and pipeline. The transportation industry has become the foundation for national economic development,which ensured the normal functioning of social and economic activities, the emergence of modern integrated transportation improved the regional transport and transport efficiency, while reducing the cost of transport. During the past 30 years since the reform and opening up, the transportation industry in Liaoning Province has enjoyed rapid development. The modern integrated transportation system formed by the combination of road, railway, water transportation, aviation and urban rail transit provides a strong support to the development of regional economy in Liaoning Province.However, as the transport infrastructure develops, the development of the transportation industry is not optimistic. In the whole year of 2015,all kinds of transportation modes in Liaoning Province saw a cargo volume of 20.2 million tons,down by 9% compared with the same period of last year.All kinds of transportation modes transported a total passenger volume of 750.39 million, down 21%. At the same time, the regional economic development in Liaoning Province has also reached a very critical period. In 2015, Liaoning economy continued to decline from the high-speed growth stage of development, with the annual GDP growth of 0.15%.The real GDP growth in Liaoning Province in 2014 fell to 5.8%, and the economic situation is further deteriorating.This paper starts with the relevant theories of transportation and regional economy,introduced the research achievements of transportation and regional economy both at home and abroad, elaborated the development of transportation and regional economy in Liaoning Province, and adopted the comprehensive evaluation method and the fitness analysis method, thereby making a quantitative analysis of the two major systems of transportation and regional economy. Based on the analysis results,the paper pointed out the influence of transportation in Liaoning Province on regional economy. This paper has great reference value for future transport and regional economic development in Liaoning Province and other areas.
