Study On Contribution Of Foreign Trade To Economic Growth Of Jiangsu Province

Since the implementation of opening-up police and reform, China has achieved great success in its economic development. International trade has done great contribution to it. However, the contribution of international trade depends greatly on the level of the economic growth. Only when the economic growth exceed a minimum level, can international trade improve the economy.There is a great gap of economic development between the east and the west. The economy of the east is much more developed than the west. In the east, it is certain that the international trade has played an important role in its economic growth, while in the west, we are not sure whether trade is helpful. As a result, there are some inevitable disadvantages if we choose the whole country as our subjects. As one of biggest economic provinces, it is very important for us to do our research on Jiangsu province.On the basis of the results of other economists, we focus on the relationship of the economic growth and international trade in Jiangsu province. With the data from the 1985 to 2003, we did an empirical analysis. We find that international trade has contributed a lot to the economic growth of Jiangsu province. And on the basis of that, we compared the trade model of Jiangsu with that of Zhejiang and Guangdon in order to give some specific suggestions on how to improve economic growth through international trade.
