In the 1990s, network convergence was once a hot topic for telecommunication companies. However, nothing important changed except some simple service binding. After the late twenty–year's network technology development, technological bottleneck has been broken through. In the tendency of network convergence, the industrial chain of the telecommunication industry changed fundamentally. A lot of SP/CPs entered the field of telecommunication service. The value-added service is booming. Especially, telecom value-added services such as SMS and network game have showed fine foreground to which a good business model is essential. This paper gives us analyses on business models of telecom value-added service together with the development of value-added service by theory and practice. We try to combine the SCP frame of NIO with the theory of strategic management when searching for the business model of telecom value-added service.At all times, business model is a subject to management research. The current literatures are on base of the inside strategic management of corporation. In fact, the business model of telecom value-added service is involved in the industrial vertical relationship, which is influenced by that.So we are devoted to seek after a new research frame of the business models of the telecom value-added service. In this dissertation, the business model is a subject to industrial vertical relationship, and belongs to the market behavior. Therefore the theory of NIO is used. In our opinion, business model isn't a question inside the corporations, but a Question of how to deal with the vertical relations in an industry chain. In the telecom value-added industry chain, SP/CP lies in the upriver, and the basic network providers lie in the downriver. Analyzing their game model, we find that cooperative relation is proper for the business model of telecom value-added service.In the introduction of this paper, the signification, method and main contents are first introduced. In Chapter Two, basic theory and concept of telecom industry is introduced. And, the definition, character, classification, and the situation of the value-added service are mentioned. At the same time, we studied the characters of telecom industry. On base of the value-chain theory, we analyze the evolvement of the telecom value-chain, build up a value-chain model of the value-added telecom service on tendency of network convergence. Then the theory of industry vertical relationship is given. After that, in Chapter Three, SCP frame is used to observe the organization of telecom industry which is facing network convergence. In the fourth part, the business model is designed by using the tool of game theory. As a result, cooperative model is promising in telecom value-added service.
