In recent years, along with the rapid advancement of urbanization process and further development of market economy in China, the governments devote more and more attention to urban management, a new urban construction and governance strategy. Most cities in our country have started urban management practice and achieved favorable results. Urban management also leads to the upsurge of urbanization development and brings along the booming of regional economy. Some cities choose proper management model, so that they perfect the infrastructure, enlarge the urban scale, strengthen their self-capacity, promote regional brand and regional prosperity.Urban management is the market operation of urban available resources with the means of market economy, which is based on the scientific analysis of various urban resources and realized according to urban development strategy and urban planning, and optimization of the distribution of urban resources and maximization of its effectiveness so as to develop urban economy, perfect urban function and improve urban competitiveness. After many years' practice and development, there appear lots of urban management models which are worth learning. Therefore, to analyze and summarize different urban management models theoretically, to study their advantages and disadvantages, and to provide instruction in the proper choosing of urban management model, has important theoretical and practical significance for accelerating the urbanization process in our country, promoting the healthy, stable and sustainable development of cities, and expediting the prosperity of regional economy.The thinking framework of this dissertation is as follows: apply relative theory of regional economics to analyze and sum up the common rule of urban...
