An Research On Industrial Transformation Of Guangdong Textile Industry

Industrial Transformation is an important stratagem of industry development. It not only happens between industries for structure conversion, such as the alternation of leading industries, but also happens in a certain industry for upgrade. When there is a great change in exterior surrounding, and the resources within an industry collocate inconsequential, the industry comes up against much restriction. For a long-term development, such an industry must transform in order to solve the contradiction between self-diathesis and the surroundings. This paper points out that industrial transformation is an essential transformation. Through structural transformation and organizational transformation, the industry competitiveness is enhanced.The textile industry is one of the industries which are faced with transformation nowadays. After the quota system cancelled, the textile industry of Guangdong province which is impelled by external force, is encountering a serious challenge. The demonstration research shows that, Guangdong textile industry is getting into four predicaments, which are growth predicament, competitiveness predicament, cost predicament and trade predicament. Furthermore, the industrial structure and organization are not optimized, the development pattern cannot last out, and the division structure has to be changed. These factors force Guangdong textile industry must transform, to accelerate its development, and to boost the competitiveness.This paper put forward that the industrial transformation of Guangdong textile industry must rely on innovation, which includes technical innovation, market innovation, organizational innovation, institutional innovation, and industrial innovation. The structural transformation aims at high extra-value output, high technology, various markets and trade structure. The organizational transformation targets at on-scale enterprises, and increases concentricity of industrial organization. In all, the enterprises are the main body of industrial transformation of Guangdong textile industry. Enterprises, government, and guild must work together, to facilitate the industrial transformation.
