Shanghai Rural Urbanization And Industrial Structure Adjustment

The substance of this paper is to discuss how to adjust industry development of suburb during the urbanization process.At the foundation of research on theories of urbanization and industrial structure, it is proved that there is close relation between them, including quantity relation.Based on the historical process of urbanization and current situation of Shanghai suburb, motive mechanism of suburb urbanization is discussed. It is concluded that exurb is the weak point of urbanization and new city construction is the best mode to solve the problem.With the rapid development of urbanization, industry adjustment is necessary. Suburb becomes more and more important in Shanghai industry development.Nanhui District of Shanghai is regarded as the very example of exurb. And how the new seaport city's construction will affect the Nanhui urban system and industry development is analyzed especially. Then some suggestions for industry adjustment are put forward in order to accelerate urbanization process.In the end, the problems requiring further studies are discussed.
