A Study On Spare Parts Management Based On Supply Chain Management

Today, the market is changing sharply, this influence global unity and cost. However, if a enterprise is hoped to survive and develop under the serious condition, it has to plan and carry out the best supply chain management . Spare parts Inventory management is the important content of the supply chain management, also it is key of the application and optimized supply chain management further.This thesis studies spare parts inventory management problem in Jinxin Iron Factory. At first, the thesis introduces the basic concepts and development of spare parts management, functions of spare parts inventory. It points out the shortcomings of traditional spare parts inventory management. After detailed description of the basic theory of supply chain management, the thesis puts forward the characteristics and patterns of spare parts inventory management in supply chain management environment. Then through analysis of status of spare parts inventory management and the existing problems in Jinxin Iron Factory, approaches to improve present spare parts inventory management are presented from several perspectives. The spare parts inventory are categorized by utilizing the method of ABC. It proposes two patterns of spare parts inventory management in the supply chain management environment, VMI and JMI pattern. Finally, based on the fact of the enterprise, several key issues, for example the method of selection and evaluation of suppliers, motivation system and information system are presented. The research results of the thesis are of reference value for spare part management in manufacturing companies.
