| With the rapid development of telecommunication technology, especially data communication technology, different types of telecommunication service providers, such as content provider, virtual carrier, access service provider, and application integrators, etc, are newly emerging. The telecommunication industry is further divided into different categories, and the traditional value-chain of the telecommunication corporations is experiencing lots of changes, which never happened before. In essence, they have more value-added process and value-added content, which bring the corporations change their strategies in different levels.Meanwhile ,With the diversities of the customers and more serious competitions from both domestic and international telecommunication companies, our telecommunication market has been experiencing lots of changes in the sense of competition environments: (1)entire value-chain competition structure has already been formed; (2) the telecommunication value-chain has been changed dramatically, and this is going to deeply impact the traditional running mode of telecommunication industry; (3)The emphasis of the competition is showing a tendency of turning to back end of telecommunication value-chain;(4) the content of the competition in the telecommunication market has changed;(5)the intensive competition has made each components of the value-chain connect much closer with each other than ever before.Due to the changes in the telecommunication value-chain and the market competition environment, it is essential to investigate the development strategies of the telecommunication carriers. In this thesis, based on the theories of value-chains, the changes with telecommunication value-chains, the corresponding effects on the telecommunication carriers, and the identification of the dramatically-changing market competition environment, we proposed the development strategies: (1) implement the strategies; (2) setup a beneficial value transmission mechanism; (3) setup a fluent information-exchange mechanism; (4) strength the value-chain adjustment and management; (5) build the"WIN-WIN"corporation value-chain.Finally, based on the analysis of the opportunities and challenges confronted by Tianjin NetComm, the corresponding strong points and weak points, and the existing problems, we have proposed the following suggestions for Tianjin NetComm:(1)Implementing outsourcing strategy for those Non-strategic businesses,in order to improve the efficiency and save the cost.(2) uniformly lay out the information system and implement the running-supporting system, in order to fully share the resources.(3) cooperate with the other companies within the value-chain.(4) Focus on customers, improve the quality of service, and diversify sales methods.In this thesis, we have proposed the development strategies of telecommunication carriers based on the theory of value-chain. We have also combine the theoretical analysis with the practical case of Tianjin NetComm. Our research will be very important in both theory and practical applications. |
