Firstly, the thesis expounds the relationship between China's foreign trade and economic growth and reviews the progresses in existing researches abroad and at home. A general situation of China's foreign trade and economic growth is described in this thesis since China's reform and opening policy had been implemented. Secondly, a co-integration theory is introduced systemically, which is the method of building the model of relation between China's foreign trade and economic growth. On the basis of the case study results and China's general situation of foreign trade and economic growth, it is revealed that foreign trade can improve economic growth. In the course of case study, the software of Eviews is used to deal with the data.In the case study, the thesis uses real world data since China's reform and opening policy had been implemented(1978—2004). The method of building model is of the co-integration theory. The whole case study is carried out from static to dynamic analysis, from whole study to part study. As a result, a conclusion is made that the foreign trade has a positive effect on economic growth.Based on the case study and China's general situation of both foreign trade and economic growth, some suggestions of boosting foreign trade's positive influence on economic growth in China are made."...
