Location Of Core Operation And Strategic Rejustment For Chinese Foreign Trade Corporations

With the deepening of Chinese market economy reform, the specialized Foreign Trade Corporations (FTCs) are facing a series of challenges. Because the limitation of the exporting and importing rights is cancelled, the competition faced by the FTCs is becoming more and more intense. As the product of the traditional planned economy , the FTCs must rejust their strategy and the model of operation .The primary issues of this dissertation lie in two aspects: The first is whether the integration of industry and trade (IIT) is the right strategy for the FCTs? The second is how can the FCTs locate their core operation and rejust their strategy if the result of the former question is negative.In order to answer these questions, the article discusses the pros and cons of the IIT in the third chapter. With the data of the positive investigation the conclusion is that the IIT isn't the most suited strategy for the FTCs. To take it into effect, the FTCs have to impropriate a mass of resouce and energy as well as bear more risks on the supply chain.Only recognizing their core competence, can the FTCs establish the right strategy. The article analyses the core competence and recognizes the pivotal resources of the FCTs in the fourth chapter. With the reference of the theory of the supply chain management, it is put forward that the FTCs should locate their core operation in the management and coordination of the transnational supply chain, and at the same time establish a strategic cooperative fellowship with the upriver and downriver enterprises.Based on the above point it suggests that the FTCs should rejust their strategy according to the management and coordination of transnational supply chain, and provide more appreciable service to their upriver and downriver enterprises, so as to get more profit.
