As the leader of the economical growth in China,Shanghai industrial devolopment zones have acheived great success in numbers and areas during the open reform period. Along with the apperance of new industrial devlopment zones, some earlier devlopment zones have entered a mature period. Meantime,Shanghai industial development zones are facing the poor factors of land use,facilitis provision and technique innovation, especially the factor of land intensive use.The domestic and international industry data statisticses shows that land resource is used by diferent industries, and then their production islargely diferent. Land-use structure is the special reflection of regional structure. The mode, structure,and change of land-use lies on industrial structure. So the evluation of land intensive use should on the base of different industrial structure. The economical intensive use is the premise and purpose while the spacial intensive use is the complement and method.The paper gives the theortical, empirical and counterplan research on the Shanghai industuial devolopment zones. Firstly , the paper, illuminates the meaning and purpose of the research and summarizes the research statusquo of the of the indusrtial zones' development and land intensive use at home and abroad. And then the basic concepts of the paper is put forward. In the respect of Substantial evidence,the paper first analized the present feature of the land intensive use of industrtial s in Shanghai,second compared the intensive land use of three typical development zone ,and third ananlized the implemental plan on the paticular unit. On the basis of the theortial and pracitial analysis,the problems and reasons of the land intensive use were given. Finally the relevent planning suggestion and the reasonable relation between the industrial planning and spacial planning were given.
