Merchant Employer: Historical Evolution And Modern Development

With the development of productive forces and improvement of production socialization and marketization, circulation is playing a more and more important role in national economy. The circulation industry has turned into one of the important departments of national economy. The developing situation of the circulation industry has become a key sign to measure developing level of market economy and the reflection of national competitiveness. The circulation industry has changed from the terminal industry to the leading industry, in a sense, is the strategic industry which is of great importance to national economy and people's livelihood. Under the present conditions of internationalization, marketization, infromationalization, the development of circulation organization should acclimatize to these conditions, and walk up to socialization and specialization.The merchant employer, which had played important role in developing process of commodity economy, dominates producers by coming into producing field from circulation field. As an adaptable organization form, with the changing social economic environment, it has new development and new forms, and we call it the modern development of merchant employer. Taking the main form of sub-contract production, the modern development of merchant employer is a coalition of production and marketing. Under this organization form, the merchants organize many producers on the basis of specialized division of labor, supply raw materials to them, and sell their products. This kind of organization form reflects that the leading role of commercial capital strengthens in both producing and circulation field. In a certain way, the modern development of merchant employer is a new form of circulation organization taken by circulation enterprises to fit social and economic development. And it represents the trend of consumption guiding the production.This paper is divided into five sections. Section 1 is introduction, mainly contains the background of selected topic, research techniques and content arrangement.
