A Comparative Study And Modern Enlightenment Between Shaanxi And Guangdong Merchants In Ming And Qing Dynasties

In Ming and Qing Dynasties, the merchants group, which took a long-distance Trafficking as principal work, took local relationship as link, took localization as characteristics presented, that was the district merchant gang. At that time, Shaanxi merchant gang and Guangdong merchant gang were two influential group in the 10 big merchant gangs. They both obtained obvious achievement respectively in the Agriculture economy and Marine economy background. And also, they created different commercial culture. However, in the historical background of Commodity economy globalization, Guangdong merchant gang eventually moved toward modernizing, but Shaanxi merchant gang moved toward decline finally. Compared with studies the formation, development and evolution of the two merchant gang, we can get important historical and realistic significance and help us develop the commodity economy in the modern time.This paper begins with the merchant environment contrast of the two different merchant gangs, using empirical study and compared with historical studies methods. By analyzing the two big merchant gangs' formation and development in different region culture and different regional economical policy, and comparing Shaanxi merchant gang and Guangdong merchant gang in the business model, the management scope, the capital flows and the merchant gang's decline, in order to prove that geographical environment, the region culture and the regional economical policy are important factors of the economy development. Using this as the basis, we should first improve Shaanxi's traffic condition and business environment, obtain the opportunity of big development of the west, change the traditional thought and traditional management idea, create business pattern with one's own characteristics expand financing channels and form multiplex investment idea .
