Employment interview is an essential part of the whole recruitment process for every company or organization, including commercial banks. As the carrier of the specific behaviors and ideology, the employment interview of a commercial bank reflects the special organizational culture and the influences brought by a certain national culture. This thesis is aimed to compare the employment interviews between Bank of China and Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation from the intercultural perspective so as to show the influences by the Chinese and British cultures as well as their special organizational cultures.Questionnaire and interview were used in the data collection for this thesis. The questionnaire was used to collect data from the interviewees'perspective, which is also the major source of the information. The interview was used to collect data from the interviewers'perspective, which can improve the reliability of the data collected from the questionnaire. The data analysis shows that the employment interview of BOC is more collectivistic oriented, has higher power distance and higher uncertainty avoidance, more masculine and long-term oriented than that of HSBC. This result coincides with the characteristics of the national cultures of China and Britain as well as the special organizational cultures of these two banks.
