Although China's electronics and information technologies industry has grown greatly, competition and challenges from international market have been much stronger. Product quality, as a key component of brand, was paid great attention by both governments and enterprises. Leading companies in this industry have been becoming experienced in quality management and achieving business successes. However, most small and middle sized companies are still green in quality management. All in all, gaps are there between electronics and information companies in China and those in developed countries. This article briefly introduced such concepts as quality and quality management in the very beginning, elaborated the history and the present status in electronics and information technology industry in China from national target, market environment and the key issues in quality management of most companies. The article also introduced the success stories of leading companies, as well as the most frequently used theories and methodologies. To get more vivid understanding on quality management system and methodology, a complete and detailed introduction of the quality system of S company is provided based on my own experience in the company. The broad coverage of quality management in product life circle from market exploration, product design, development and manufacturing to customer services will help enterprises in China. In the ending of this article, the author advocated on several key practices in quality management in China, which includes enforcing leadership, shaping and following a good system, listening to customers, training to all employees and trying to be outstanding.
