The competition between companies in the 21st century will be the competition between different corporate cultures ultimately. Under the background of this trend, PetroChina, the biggest petroleum company in China which produces the crude oil and gas, operates oil refining and provides oil products to consumers in marketing, has insisted on the construction and improvement of its own corporate culture.At first, the concept, the usefulness and the development of corporate culture and some western economy studies on corporate culture will be summarized and analyzed in this paper. Basing on the study of PetroChina corporate culture and my working experience in PetroChina ShanDong marketing company over the past eight years, I will focus on a detailed study for its corporate culture construction, also point out some main problems and make out a set of concept and improvement plan. The main items include: (1). Set up the common wish within company. (2). Construct a divisional organization. (3). Develop the democracy management. (4). Build a learning-pattern organization. (5). Cultivate service values etc.
