Developing Strategy Of ZhongYuan Oil Field

ZhongYuan Oil Field is a state owned gigantic petroleum enterprise. It is an important Oil&Gas production base in the eastern part of China. In recent years, as the production of ZhongYuan oil field decreased and petrolic reserves experience a decline, it is facing a serious challenge, in which the competition of both international and domestic Oil&Gas market will be increasingly severe. How to deal with the difficult, how to achieve a continuable development and the development strategy of this company is a theme which worth while further study.In this paper, I systematically analyze the development strategies, by using SWOT analytical method in terms of the internal and external environment. Strategical management theory is chosen as theory foundation and analysis tool. Through detail analyzing of the external and internal oil business situation, the influences of environment, the general scale and capital capacity of the company, also the resource groundwork and the human resource, the opportunity, threat, strength and weakness of the oil field are found. Base on SWOT matrix I put forward four development tactics which will be suitable for ZhongYuan oil field. According to strategy choice model, ZhongYuan oil field should adopt level-headed strategy supplemented with growing and constrictive ones. several tactics include seeking for survival on basis of domestic oil market, pursuing development with increasingly share international oil, avoiding threatening by adjusting property right and industrial structure are assembled. Furthermore, the strategic idea, targets and strongpoint are established. Some constructive development processes and suggestions are introduces as well.
