A Study Of The Impact Of Enterprise' Purchasing Risk Managerial Techniques On Purchasing Performance

With the development of economy, supply chain is becoming more and more complex, risk and uncertainty is increasing in companies'purchasing activities. Especially, with the entry to WTO, while China is becoming the manufacture center of the world, more and more European and American companies trend to out-source electronic products in China, which make it to be more complicated and bring more risks to the electronic manufacture enterprises'purchasing activities. So, Chinese enterprises, especially the electronic manufacture enterprises, have to take some techniques to manage purchasing risk, reduce or avoid its adverse effect, and improve purchasing performance. Although, people have recognized its importance, there are many shortcomings exist in the foreign and domestic studies of the relationships between the managerial techniques of purchasing risk and purchasing performance. Therefore, based on the problems of reality in the Chinese enterprises of our country and the shortcomings of studies, this study established a theoretical model and hypothesizes about the relationships between the managerial techniques of purchasing risk and purchasing performance, which stood on adequately research about related theories and literatures. The model mainly based on Agency Theory, Risk Management Theory and Performance Measurement Theory etc., and took purchasing risk as the media variable. And than, from multi-demesions, this study not also explored their relationships completely and deeply, but developed a scale which suitable for China's cultural background.In order to examine the validity of the scale and the model, Chinese electronic manufacture enterprises surveyed, and 117 samples was collected. Firstly, this study examined the reliability and validity of the scale by confirmatory factor analysis; and then, the indexes of fit measures showed that the model has good validity, which by Structural Equation Modeling.At last, with more analysis and research, this study examined all of hypothesizes, and clarified the relationships between the managerial techniques of purchasing risk and purchasing performance. Of course, the study also gave some management implications to Chinese enterprises, especially the electronic manufacture enterprises.
