A Study On Jiuquan Agricultural Integration Organizational Models

Agricultural integration, another deep reform after the contract responsibility system based on the household with remuneration linked to output in rural economy of our country and the town-owned enterprises, appeared in the late 1980s and was growing rapidly. It was extended and developed in the coastal areas of China in the 1990s. As a new strategic direction in agricul6ture development it was listed in the ninth five-year plan in 1996 and its theoretical research has always bee the central issue in academic circles and government departments.Agricultural integration contributes not only to economic benefits, but also to some other multi-aspect effect, which can not be evaluated by economic standards. So in this thesis, Jiuquan, a city in China, is selected as the research base. Based on case analysis and general evaluation, this research combined the theories and practice, and adopted a combmation of qualitative method and quantitative method. It analyzes the working mechanism of agricultural integration, the constitute factors of areal models, and the present development of agricultural integration in Jiuquan. Eventually, this research suggests a blueprint of the optimization lf the areal model of Jiuquan agricultural integration, including the government actions, the chosen management models, the present urgencies and how to perfect and create future models.This research is novel in two ways. First, it deals with a systematic discussion on the working mechanism, constitution and restrictions of Jiuquan agricultural integration. Second, practical ways have been proposed for Jiuquan government to choose and optimize the areal models of agricultural integration.
