In the course of world economic globalization, manufacturing enterprises are confronted with a severe challenge on issues of competition in the world market. The future of these enterprises is decided by the production mode that employed. While global market saturation has slowed market growth and intensified competition, many companies find themselves operating in an increasingly customer–focused market. Customer satisfaction and customized products and services are becoming a necessity for market success in many industries. Consequently, the product life cycle has shorted, high-lighting the quality of the products and the speed of product development noted that manufacturers are under increasing pressure from customer to deliver lower prices, better quality, a wider range of products, and a faster and better service. At the same time, rapidly changing customer demand and taste is making the marketplace unstable and demand unpredictable, requiring more responsive and adaptable manufacturing systems.Based on the current market situation of machine tool industry in china, an new mode of production (Lean Production which is an advanced production mode to solve the problems) is implemented. The presentation introduced the case of a state–owned medium and small-sized machining tool supporting enterprises——Shenyang Banhanjian Factory(SMTCL), when production processes was transiting from mass production to small quantities. Firstly, it expounded the research motivation, background and summarized the research field and present development of lean production. Secondly, it introduced the problems that arose from the production process. Third, seven paradoxes are advanced, and explained what it should need in order to be successful in pushing Lean Production in a philosophy way. The forth, the ninth waste form-energy waste of human being is advanced. After analyzing several relevant factors, a mathematics model has been constructed. And the fifth, it brought forward fractal method of production layout design solve the problems of too much long waiting time and disorder of product, created working shop layout based on GASA arithmetic and VB program, reduced the required working space, shorted the convey distance and paid a way to Lean Production, in addition, the working schedule has been rearranged and production line has also been balanced.
