A Study On The Development Strategy For The Private Economy Of The Huli District Of Xiamen

The private economy of the Huli District of Xiamen started in 1980's has increasingly grown with the development of Xiamen Special Economic Zone and made great achievements. However, there are still some problems: the gross product and many enterprises are comparatively small, the industry levels are on the low side, the layout of economy is not quite rational, the technology is not very advanced and the internal management is not scientific enough and financing difficulty is quite often. To develop the private economy of Xiamen on a big scale has important and long-term significance for Xiamen to become the central city of the Economic Zone of the West Coast of the Straits. How to deal with the crisis and take the challenges, formulate the development strategy for the private enterprises so as to accelerate the development and improve the quality of the private economy of the Huli District of Xiamen becomes more and more important.This dissertation researches on the private economy of the Huli District of Xiamen, collects the statistics of the private enterprises, makes brief analysis and points out the crucial problems existing. The dissertation applies some analysis tools to analyze the strategic environment and ascertain the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the private enterprises of the Huli District of Xiamen. Basing on the analysis, this dissertation studies the development strategy appropriate for the private economy of the Huli District of Xiamen.This dissertation consists of four chapters. Chapter 1 briefly introduces the general situation of the private economy of the Huli District of Xiamen and the crucial problems existing. Chapter 2 mainly analyzes the strategic environment of the private enterprises of the Huli District of Xiamen. It begins with analysis on the macroscopic environment, then to SWOT analysis. Chapter 3 institutes the general development strategy for the private enterprises of the Huli District of Xiamen. It uses the experience of the development of the private economy in other areas, institutes the development strategy from the industry point of view, and elaborates three important strategies as developing industry clusters, core competence and trades associations.
