Study On The Core Competence Of Chinese Private Express Enterprise

With the rapid development of world economy and the acceleration of globalization, logistics industry plays an increasingly tremendous role in promoting the market economy. Express industry, as a very important part of the logistics industry in China, shows a white-hot competitive situation in the quick and prosperous development. Facing the huge demand and high profit of the Chinese market, foreign express delivery giants and state-owned express enterprises use their own way to get more market share. If the fledgling private express enterprises want to gain a firm foothold in the fierce competitions and to be bigger and stronger, they should develop and elevate their core competence, thus establishing a long-term competitive advantage.On the basis of the logistics theory and the theory of enterprise core competence, this thesis, firstly, introduces the development process and the future of express enterprises in China, and makes a comparative analysis of the domestic express market's competitiveness. Secondly, it makes a SWOT & risk analysis and discriminating analysis of the core competence for private express enterprises in China. Thirdly, it employs fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, from the angle of the basic characteristics of express business and its core competence, to design an evaluation index system of the core competence for private enterprises, define every index and construct a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model. Fourthly, it chooses S.F Express, as an example of case study, to collect data by means of questionnaires, and synthetically evaluate the core competence of private express enterprises for verification. Finally, on the basis of the above analysis and evaluation in five aspects: the strategy, talents, service, management, and external environment, it puts forward strategic suggestions for further development of the core competence of our private express enterprises.
