To be an advanced way of prosecution in modern retailing, supermarket just entered China in 1981, up to now only more than 20 years. Although existence and development are not so long, it quickly develops with a potent trend in recent years. To be a convenient city, Wuhan is always an important city which merchants'target. World top tradesmen such as Wal.Mart,Carrefour have already landed on Wuhan and started expansion. Some famous domestic retail company such as Xin yi jia,Wan jia and so on also set up in Wuhan. Facing drastic competition of retailing and challenge after roundly open for foreign capital, Wuhan local top one of retailing Wushang group constructed competition policy of expansion.Wushang chain is the main force which sticks to expansion So to study its competitive power is meaningful and practical.The dissertation introduced the research trend of competitive power for domestic and overseas nterprises at the beginning, analyzed the fruits of current competitive power studies. Connecting with characteristic of retailing, the dissertation studied the competitive power of chain supermarket and chose three stair indexes-the ability to obtain customers'satisfaction, management ability, cost control ability and others nine twain indexes, twenty-fourth third class indexes. It is just to take use of Level Analysis to fix weighing; simultaneously combing statistics, economics and marketing knowledge that initially build evaluation system of competitive strength in chain supermarket industry.In the process of study, the dissertation analyzed macro-environment and micro-environment of Wushang with SWOT theory, chose three major competitors-Zhongshang,Zhongbai and,Wal.mart ,Through evaluation model of competitive strength, this thesis begins with statistics of the third-class index scores, and then calculates the second and the first-class index scores for four enterprises; and also makes comparison and analysis of those scores in both quantitative and qualitative terms, finally puts forward to, Wushang chain, as a large-scale supermarket, its advantages and disadvantages of competitive strength and main existing problems.At the end of the dissertation, according to the outcome of competitive power index evaluation, connecting the whole industry condition, I gave some suggestions which can improve its competitive power. The purpose of this thesis is to help the enterprise realize its competitive strength situation and the gap with excellent ones in the same industry by evaluation analysis of competitive strength for chain supermarket, and find out the key factors to achieve success, whichwill be greatly beneficial for the enterprise to make correct judgments and relevant strategic decisions.
