Partnership is a project management idea adopted gradually and popularized at full steam,whichever management method or pattern it's been called,especially for the project managers in overseas construction,for example,America,Australia and Britain,and Hong Kong began to introduce this idea into its construction projects in the middle of last century 90's. From both sides of the whole project benefit and every party's benefit,the achievements are prominent in some countries or regions by applying partnering. But our construction industry has not introduced it into construction project yet,and the lack of partnership research is one of reasons for that situation,in addition,the overseas researching about partnering,which are mostly case studies, is preceding ours. So this thesis is trying to demonstrate why partnering should been adopted,namely,the benefits of partnering;Secondly,analyzing the structure,process and successful factors of partnering and applying principal-agent model by combining the actual projects at the same time,the most important factor founded is building trust,and the most important for building trust is reasonable risk allocation. Aiming at actuality of Chinese construction industry,this thesis discusses the feasibility of partnering under the condition of law and project culture of China,and puts forward some advices looking forward to offering useful reference for constant innovation and progress of project management of China.
