Transportation industry shall take overall premise of servicing national economy and social development, make sure its status in national economy and the role of relationships with other industries. With the scientific development concept as a guide, scientific and rational development strategies will be made. This paper will be of Industrial Economics and Input-Output Analysis, use thelatest statistics data------ Input-Output Table in 2002 released by the State StatisticsBureau in China to try a new restructuring, put transportation and other industries under the new classification principles of integration by data adjusting and balancing appropriately, and then compile the new input-output table giving priority to the transportation sub-sectors.Using the new transportation input-output table, studying on the transportation status in national economy and its role of relationships with other industries by mathematical methods from consumption coefficient, chain effect, intermediate demand ratio, intermediate input ratio, influence coefficient, induction coefficient, initial investment structure coeffficient and so on.This paper will make a few suggestions on the development strategies for transportation industry including reforming management system, improving marketing access, establishing tariffs mechanism, developing integrated transportation, emphasizing innovations in science and technology, supervising security, making sure orientation and strengthening entironment protection based on the analysis and strive to provide some references for the transportation management department to constitute development strategy.
