Joining the WTO means that China's economy has being integrate into the world economy and become a part of globalized economy. As a member of WTO, China in the enjoyment of their rights at the same time, they must fulfill their commitments and obligations. In July 1, 2006, the china auto import tariff rated to 25%, and with the full opened out of China's automobile market, the China's auto industry will face international challenges. Therefore, in the transition period, analysis in the international competitiveness of China's auto industry trends and studying on how to improve the international competitiveness of China's auto industry after the transition period is urgent and of great realistic significance. This is good for accelerating the achievement of China's automobile industry becomes one of the pillar industries before 2010, making Chinese auto enterprises success with foreign competitors to take part in an invincible position, fully occupying the domestic market then ultimate accessing to the international market and laying a solid foundation.Before analysis International competitiveness of the automotive industry, first we have to build the international competitiveness of the industrial system of evaluation criteria. Through the related international research, this paper study on the history and present situation of international competitiveness theory, the evaluation index system and evaluation methods. Meanwhile, make a simple analysis of the existing defects and shortcomings; construct the industrial requirements of international competitiveness evaluation system. Based on the existing index system and evaluated it's defects, combination the qualitative research and quantitative research, evaluation index system in the re-design thinking, From the quantification and analysis of the two indexes, make description of the automobile industry internationally competitive through six angle In the third chapter, automobile industry evaluation index system use in the kinds of indicators of China, in the quantitative evaluation, compare the United States, Japan, Germany and relative ten countries auto industry and through the establishment of a multi-target model of the maximum deviation of the changes in the automotive industry and economic trends; in the analysis evaluation, compare the auto industry's product quality and technical skills, industry development environment. The results show that China's auto industry in the market and resources into strengthening capabilities is not good, overall international competitiveness in a weak level.Through the analysis of the china automobile industry international competitive edge in the situation and development trend find the key constraints to enhance competitiveness, and make the corresponding measures in order to expand China's auto industry exports, optimize the industrial structure then enhance their international competitiveness.
