As a highly capital-intensive industry, automotive manufacture is decorated with complexity of industrial chain which makes a deep impact on the development of related industries. Stimulated by the economic globalization at present, developing countries has been greatly enrolled in the world's auto market. In this context, China has grown up as the first automaker and marketer worldwide in 2009. However, a sharp gap exists in self-reliance innovation and division position in international auto markets in China campared to developed countries in regard to their automobile industries. Therefore, it is of real significance to deliever a research on the strategy to reinforce China's automobile competitiveness.Based on present situation of China's automobile industry competitiveness, this thesis elaborates the factors and countermeasures concerning automobile industry of China from the perpective of industrial chain, attempts to figure out those industrial chain elements which influence automobile industry competitiveness so as to propose strategies for enhancing its competitiveness.Theoretical and empirical analysises are delievered in this thesis. The thesis adopts the theory of diamond model and industry to identify the features of automobile industry and factors which shape its development. It also employes the AHP approach to analyze China's automobile industry by introducing into index analysis, SWOT analysis is tartgeting to illustrate the industrial chain factors.In the first part, industry chain theory and competiveness theory are introduced to make a theoretical base for the later analysis.The second part is about the current situation of China automobile industry. Starting from the development process of China's auto industry, this part introduced the overall size and structure of the automotive industry. The third part, by empirical analysis method, is to judge the international competitiveness and industry chain factors of China's automobile industry. AHP Analysis method and RCA indexes are for judging the competitiveness, leaving SWOT analysis method for chain factors.The fourth part is mainly strategies to enhance the international competitiveness of China auto industry. Combining the anterior analysis of the paper, strategies are appear, that is, the government need to give the macro support, and enterprises should take appropriate measures. It is concluded that China in weak position in the auto industry competitiveness is greatly affected by it auto-relate industry, advanced factors and government support whereas developed countries stay far beyond China.Consequently, it creats a must to improve the industrial chain of automobile industry with a particular in its upstream and downstream in which the malady of knowledge base and service quality should be urgently offset.
