This paper attempts to study the high-tech industry that will open a new direction to research. As an initial stage of the study, I mainly focused on theoretical exposition on the high-tech industry. The paper analyzes the difference and relationship between high-tech industries and traditional industries and the effect on performance evaluation of high-tech industries. The second section is about the difference between the high-tech industries and traditional industries in the characteristics, market structure and market conduct, which lay a solid foundation for the analysis next. The third section briefly discusses the relationship between the high-tech industries and traditional industries. Then the performance evaluation of high-tech industries is based on that of traditional industries. It makes the discussion more full. Section Four is focused on the measurement standards of market performance on high-tech industry. Through the comparison of applicability about evaluation standard between High-tech industries and traditional industries, it leads to the unique performance evaluation standards of high-tech industry.Finally, the fifth section is the conclusion.
