Driving Mechanism Of Land Use And Land Cover Change In Xi'an

Land use and land cover change (LUCC ) is an important component part of global environmental change and main cause result in the environmental change, now has become hotspots of Global change research. Driving mechanism of land use and land cover change, especially for population growth and mans activity are the focus of LUCC research at present.This paper takes xi'an as the main research object.By the analysis of present land use from 2000-2005, the author do the research on theexpulsion mechanism of land use Against the backdrop of economic advance, useing the principal component analysis to select the 13 correlation socioeconomic factors with impact the land use and land cover change of xi'an from 2000-2005. By means of Statistical Package for the Social Science to operate, analysis result prove that socioeconomic factors which influed the and use change can conclude to 4 kinds—economic factor, urbanization factor, readjustment of industrial structures, demographic factor.Studies show that because of the practice of the strategy of large-scale development of the western region, the investment of Property fields, whith the economic high growth, there is a steady decreasing tendency of land under cultivation by 1.3%. In order to prevent the reduction of land under cultivation, check other land use mode to occupy the land under cultivation, we need to adjust economic growth mode. Economize on the use of land and put land intensive use into practice are the main content of change of economic growth mode.for years the urbanization level increased from 41.54ercent to 44.91percent, theimprovement of the urbanization level promote the adjustment of industrial structure, make the land use structure to change, mainly because of the Expansion of the land for town ,which consist of industrial land use, housing land use, tertiary industryand use, lead to decreasing tendency of land under cultivation.The transformation of land use structure improved the function of land use. effectively promoted the restructuring and upgrading of xian's industry to a certain extent.All together, restructuring and upgrading of industry will make the most optimum distribution of resources,especially the rapid development of tertiary sector upgrade the land use efficient.With the growth of population, the reduction of land under cultivation, meanwhile the growth of the housing land use, the independent industrial mines use, the transportation use.From 2000-2005, the population increased from 6.8801millionto 7.4173 million, per capita arable land area decreased from 0.74 mu/per to 0.64 mu/per, contradiction between population and development becoming increasingly acute.Based on the analysis of present land use and the driving mechanism, this paper from a land ntensive use standpoint, the author established the land ntensive use evaluation indicator system that awords with facts of xi'an. From the Sustainability point of view, put forward 6 pointed strategy and suggestion for land use, in order to give some reference for the rational utilization of the land.
