The energy has been receiving close attention in the development of social and economic development of China. Under the new situation, to exploit oil market overseas is becoming more and more urgent while it is essential to excavate and use domestic oil resources. From the petroleum supply security and diversification point of view,to develop and import oil resources from the Caspian Sea and Central Asia has already become one of the key strategies of the government. In the picture of global oil-gas resources geopolitics, the Central Asia is located the heart of the world, occupying pivotal status for the energy supply of great nations all over the world. In view of the fact that the situation in the Middle East continues to be unstable, its petroleum supply is obviously unreliable. Inside China, the productivity of large-scale oil fields such as Daqing Oil Field,Shengli Oil Field and so on,has already achieved the limit, domestic energycould not satisfy the demands of the rapid economic development in China, although new progress has being achieved in the exploration of oil-gas resources. On the other hand, the situation in the Central Asia region, the backyard of China, is relatively stable. There finds extremely rich oil-gas resources in the Central Asia. Therefore, it appears especially important to strengthen geopolitical research on the global energy policy of China. Nevertheless,at present domestic research in this aspect seemed tobeprejudiced, and some researchers appeared to be as bystanders rather than participants. In this dissertation, China will be treated as a participant rather than a bystander. The contending for the Central Asia among US, Russia, Japan, India, Pakistan and other Islam countries was described. Its influence on the energy strategy of our country was analyzed. The historical, political and economic competitive superiority of China for the geopolitics of the Central Asia were summarized. Some suggestions on cooperation between the enterprises of China and the Central Asia were given. Moreover, the challenges and the difficulties that may be encountered by China were objectively elucidated. Especially, the competing for the Central Asia between China and Russia was objectively clarified, overcoming some other researchers' shortage of merely emphasizing the benefit intersection of China and Russia in the Central Asia. When the geopolitical importance of central Asia to China was acknowledged, it was emphasized that we need not to only limit in the regions of Central Asia and the Caspian Sea. The importance to diversely import energy should be realized and efforts should be made to avoid shortcoming of some other domestic researches. Finally, it was suggested that we should make political, economic and the energy cooperation with every member nations of the Central Asia through the Shanghai Cooperative Organization. Large-scale energy enterprise should be encouraged to enter the Central Asia market first to preoccupy the niche. At the same time, the channels to import energy outside the Central Asia should be developed to diversify the energy sources in order to safeguard the energy supply for the sustainable economic development of China.
