Research On Deepening The Energy Cooperation Between China And Central Asia

The domestic energy supply of China could not satisfy the great demand of energy because of the sustained rapid increase of economy. China needed to import power resources numerously, especially to import petroleum and natural gas. Chinese dependence on foreign energy was enlarging constantly. The excessively single channel of energy import didn't benefit both the stable supply of energy in long term and the safety assurance of energy demands. Nothing but to conduct"go-out"strategy and establish multiplex international energy supply system, could we distract the import risk of energy efficiently and ensure the economy growth and national security.To deepen the energy cooperation between China and Central Asia had natural geographical advantages, rich material foundation, valuable cooperation experience and strategy basis on mutual benefit and shared profit, which could not only meet the energy demands of China, insure Chinese energy security, but increase Chinese sources and channels of energy import, reduce cost of energy import, and at the same time, expand energy export market of Central Asia countries. Therefore, deepening energy cooperation between China and Central Asia was a win-win strategic measure.The problem of energy cooperation of China and central Asia was not only a relatively new international political-economics subject, but a relatively new subject of regional economic cooperation .This paper tried to study problems of Chinese international energy cooperation from the angle of economics, and to study the cooperative feasibility and realization approaches in 21st century. The paper also tried to seek series of promoting methods of deepening energy cooperation of China and Central Asia, combined with related theory of Regional Economics and Geopolitics. We tried to search a new method of regional economic cooperation and international energy cooperation, by learning from the research results of regional energy cooperation of Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia, and by learning from the study results of international cooperation of the western countries. At last, the paper analyzed the positive and negative influence factors in the process of energy cooperation between China and Central Asia, and fatherly, proposed relevant measures and tactics, in order to quest a new model of regional economic cooperation and international energy cooperation.
