There is no doubt that it is very important for any enterprise to form and develop nucleus competition capability in the modern society. It is nucleus competition capability that support the whole enterprise in the future, which is the key to make our enterprise conquer all the difficulties and which is the source to win permanent superiority in competition. Once formed, it becomes strategic capital and it also can make our enterprise gain the competition predominance in the persistent development. With China joining WTO, China tobacco industry becomes more and more open and is faced with greater pressure in market competition . Because the national buyers'market has been formed, customers can choose goods freely. With foreign tobacco occupying more percentage in market, national market has been internationalized. Therefore Chinese tobacco industry will face the severe competition with foreign tobacco company. Meanwhile competition between national tobacco company also becomes increasingly acute. In the recent years, national tobacco industry has been strengthening the reform power. It is the only way for our tobacco industry to reinforce competition capacity and meet the challenge in market by reunion, optimizing organization, cultivating great brand, and enlarging the scale. As the largest enterprise in the northeast, so far Yanji Tobacco Company has become one of the 36th most important enterprises. In order to cope with the severe competition from national as well as international ones, it is of the vital importance to study how to improve the nucleus competition capacity . In this thesis, I analyzed in detail the national and international situation for Chinese tobacco industry, the current status, the management resource, the value chain of an enterprise, and the synthetic competition capacity of Yanji Tobacco Company. I made the SWOT analysis and proved the nucleus competition capacity as technique creativity and capacity for marketing. Based on this I put forward the strategic choice for Yanji Tobacco Company to improve nucleus competition capacity ; that is, low cost in priority combined with distinctive features of the company, and I come up with some measures for the innovation of core technique, marketing management , reunion and reorganization.
