As Internet is becoming more and more popular, C2C electronic commerce of China is developing quickly, too. Although the the market scale and user scale are large, C2C electronic commerce websites of China haven't found a proper profit mode. Without profit, the websites cannot develop themselves. Based on the profit mode of C2C electronic commerce websites of foreign countries and the features of C2C electronic commerce websites of China, this thesis focuses on exploring proper profit mode for C2C electronic commerce websites of China.Firstly, provides the definition of C2C electronic commerce websites and their features. In this thesis, C2C electronic commerce websites are websites which provide users with an information platform, on which users can sell or buy things online. The users of the websites can be both ordinary customers and business men. The main features of C2C electronic commerce websites include providing an information platform and additional services, all kinds of users, a large amount of items and lots of deals with low prices.Secondly, discusses what a profit mode is and the influence factors of the profit mode of C2C electronic commerce websites. In this thesis, a profit mode is a conclusion of how an enterprise gains profit. The thesis points out that the influence factors of the profit mode of C2C electronic commerce websites include the inside features and the outside environments. The inside features are the products or services the websites provide, and the location of the websites on the value chain. The outside environments are the features of the users, and the competitive environment.Thirdly, introduces the development of C2C electronic commerce website of foreign countries, and then, analyzes the typical profit mode of C2C electronic commerce websites of foreign countries based on the analysis of eBay. eBay is the most famous C2C electronic commerce website and it has been successfully earning money for a long time. This thesis analyzes the revenue of eBay, summarizes its profit mode, and indicates the reasons of its success. Fourthly, introduces the development of C2C electronic commerce websites of China, and analyzes several typical C2C electronic commerce websites of China. After that, this thesis summarizes the features of C2C electronic commerce websites of China.Finally, discusses if the profit mode of eBay is proper for C2C electronic commerce websites of China. This thesis suggests two profit modes for C2C electronic commerce websites of China: direct profit mode and indirect profit mode. The thesis also explains each of the profit modes and how they should be used.
