As the majority of managers, middle-class and junior managers are usually enslaved to the hierarchical structure, managerial regulations, culture and the decision by senior management when they adopt stimulus. On the other hand, some non-salary motivations become mostly suitable choices because of their low cost, high effective and flexibility.This thesis is an investigation into the subject of effectively motivating employee base on motivational theories of psychology, sociology and communicational theories. And bases on the investigative method of logical syllogism with integration of demonstrations and theories, studies dialectic relationship between communication and effective motivation, and then, mines for practical and high-effective motivation approaches. This thesis contains 5 parts. Part 1 introduces the background, method and structure; Part 2 illustrates motivational theories of psychology and economics, and analyses institutional constraints of motivation; Part 3 includes the Chapter 3 and 4, they compare the advantage of non-salary motivation with the disadvantage of salary motivation; Part 4 researches major strategies of non-salary motivations; Part 5 is the conclusion.Precisely awaring the demand of employees is the key of effectivity of non-salary motivation. Managers should really understand that he/she need employees' abilities, genuinely respect and recognize employees' contributions, and then can effectively communicate with employees, and let employees realize managers' supportive attitude of communication, and build up supportive atmosphere of communication.
