Ecological-audit Of Hainan State Farm Bureau (HSFB)'s Rubber Industry

Hainan State Farm Bureau (HSFB) is the biggest base of natural rubber production, its sustainable development is very important to the natural rubber industry of China. This research is carried out with the theory of industrial ecology and Ecological economics, built the technical methods and indices and did a systematically all-around analysis on HSFB's rubber industry. On the base of rubber industry natural assets research, the depletion of resources and energy sources caused by economic move is the emphases of evaluation, the integrated benefit of ecologic benefit,economic benefit and social benefit was debated. This research opened out the development status quo and the existing issues about HSFB's rubber industry. Some advice on the sustainable development of HSFB's rubber industry are also given in this research.This research compartmentalizes the ecological-audit indices system into four levels:target level,guide lines level,elements level and indices level. The research result on each level reflected the industry's development status quo on some an aspect independently. All of them constituted the contents of the ecological-audit and reflected the relationships between the rubber industry's development and the society's advancement,the resource and the environment. From this research, we summed up these main conclusions:(1) There is a red figure of the contents of N,K,Mg element in rubber forest's soil,only the P element's input-export keep balance ultimately. This indicated that the earth nutrition of rubber forest ecosystem is"exhausting". The analysis result of nutrition substance flows shows that the soil fertility in rubber forest is declining year by year.(2) Though the rubber forest's nutrition status is in a downtrend, the rubber forest still provide powerful ecologic service function value,such as soil conservation,water head conservation,CO2 fixation,O2 release and so on .(3) The dissymmetry of science and technology progress is the key reason of the nutrition status's decline in rubber forest. It means that ,we just went after the technologies of resources development at present time especially just depended on the production increase caused by the use of ethylene instead of paying attention to fertilizing soil,nutrition diagnosis and formula fertilizer application under the new rubber tapping system . All of these indicated the exhausting trend of the soil nutrition year by year in HSFB's rubber forest.(4) The result of Emergy Analysis shows that HSFB's rubber industry mostly depends on the emergy input from economical system. Fertilizers and labors force are the two most main inputs .The reasons for low emergy yield ratio of HSFB's rubber industry are these:①There is a lack of process link, and the process of rubber is mostly rough machining.②T he high emrgy purchase enhanced the cost of the productions.③The science and technology just have a little effect on the output, this caused a low economy benefit. In order to enhance the added value of rubber productions, the industry should develop the rubber finish machining from now on.(5)The environmental loading ratio indices show that the environmental influence degree of the rubber industry is on the mid-low level. Compares with the others, this agriculture system's environmental influence degree is in normal range. It's lower emergy/dollar ratio than other area shows that the rubber industry has a better economical benefit and some advantages than other industries.(6)The rubber industry brings good economical benefit. The labour productivity in Hainnan State Farm is far higher than the average level of the whole Chinese agriculture industries. Estimate with the emergy yield ratio in China, if the average social wealth reached the same level with the interior developed area's,it proved that the rubber industry has more advantages than other agriculture industries. But the burden of education and medical treatment and some other aspects is so heavy that it restricted the increase of employees'income and the input of corporation's scientific research outlay. It's the ultimate reason which caused the dissymmetry of science and technology progress.
