Along with the progress of our age and the development of our society, therelationship of hi-education and regional economy are closer than before. On one hand,the regional economy is the supporting force and leading factor for the development ofhi-education, supplying the hi-education with fund and influencing the brainintroduction, the level of running a school, scale of running a school, departmentarrangement, and structure of the students. On the other hand, hi-education is thesupportive and motive force for the development of society, providing brains,technology, information and culture for the development of regional economy. In otherwords, hi-education and regional economy can support and restrict each other, so onlycoordination can realize the bilateral benefits of the mutual development. For thisresult, the development of the hi-education must merge into the overall programme,insist on the principle of moderately leading development, and acquire the awarenessof serving for the economic development.To a great extent, the strength and level of a regional hi-education represent thestrength and level of the economy in this region. Reflecting on the present condition ofQingdao hi-education and economic development, the hi-education definitely has madea greater contribution to the rapid development of Qingdao's economy, but there stillexists some problems, such as the relative sluggishness in the idea of running a school,lack of overall strength, relative backwardness in academic level, inadequate ability intransforming the advanced technology, poor policy environment and cornmon hinder intraditional culture. Because of these, there is a far way to go for Qingdao hi-educationproviding ideal service for the economic development.Using the theory of interactive relationship between the hi-education andregional development, contrasting the strategic principle of hi-educational development based on the mutual relationship. Connecting the present conditionbetween the hi-education and regional economic development, some work has to bedone to improve the self-development, personnel system, level structure, departmentstructure of hi-education, to tap the latent power of educational resources, to work outthe methods to the realization for virtuous reaction with the economic development,striving for the realization of optimization grouping between hi-education andeconomic development.
