Research On Expressway Toll Pricing

Using scientific theories of pricing, investment-profit analysis andpublic goods management, combining theory with practice, and based onthe existing research results in expressway toll management, this thesisfirst analyzes the status and problems of the expressway toll managementin Guangdong Province, and then discusses the influence on expresswaygovernmental pricing by the operating cost, investment-profit ofexpressway, consumers' consumption ability and other factors with themethodology of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, normativeanalysis and empirical analysis. Taking advantage of the managementdata of some typical expressways in Guangdong Province, this thesis triesto find out the relationships between the expressway toll standard and themain factors, and establish a pricing model and a series of pricingprinciples. Finally, based on the research and analysis, some policysuggestions aiming to improve and consummate the expressway pricingmethods are put forth.
